How to Open the Little Box in Nancy Drew: Curse of Blackmoor Manor

"Nancy Drew: The Curse of Blackmoor Manor" is the 2004 installment of the long-running point-and-click Nancy Drew adventure game series exclusive to PC and Mac computers. "The Curse of Blackmoor Manor" is the highest rated game in the 15-game series. There is a puzzle box at the beginning of the game that can be opened at any point if you figure out the solution.

Instructions

  Turn around in the starting room until you see the table with the astronomical instruments. Take the star map from the table, then turn and walk to the fireplace. Look at the Coat-of-Arms so Nancy can memorize the clue.

  Pick up the puzzle box sitting on the chair. Turn each side until it is displaying the correct color, moon phase and animal. Any side can be manipulated in any order. The correct side configurations are:
  
  Lynx - all vanes closed - any color
  
  Rabbit - right half exposed - green
  
  Dragon - fully open - red
  
  Lion - one vane open on right edge - red
  
  Fish - one vane open on left edge - blue

  Open the box and receive the Short Lens.
