Explore Dwemer Ruins for Rare Items

  Locate and enter a Dwemer Ruin. Because the Wild Sparksword is classified as a Dwemer shortsword, there is a higher probability of finding one in a Dwemer Ruin than anywhere else in Morrowind. There are many Dwemer Ruins (a total of 23) within the game, but they are all unmarked on your map until you find them. Visit the Morrowind wiki for a full list of Dwemer Ruins.

  Explore the Dwemer Ruin. Each ruin is guarded by a plethora of monsters and opponents. Defeating these enemies can be difficult since Dwemer Ruins are usually considered high-level locations, but the ruins always contain random treasures that make the risk worthwhile. Additionally, each ruin is designed differently, so check your map frequently to avoid getting lost.

  Open the Dwemer rare cache. Each ruin contains one or two treasure chests hidden in a deep part of the ruin. These caches are usually guarded by the ruin's toughest guardians, so you'll know one is nearby after a very tough fight. These rare caches have higher-quality items than the rest of the ruin and may contain a Wild Sparksword.

Reach Rank 6 in House Hlaalu

  Join House Hlaalu. The Wild Sparksword is one of 18 rewards given for achieving rank six within House Hlaalu. The Hlaalu faction is one of three houses you can join and perform quests for in Morrowind. You must speak with Nileno Dorvayn in order to join, and he can be found in the Hlaalu Council Manor in the city of Balmora.

  Perform Hlaalu quests. Nileno Dorvayn will immediately offer you a quest after joining House Hlaalu. After you perform a few quests, Hlaalu will give you a promotion, which offers bonus items and prestige. You can be eligible for a new promotion to the next rank after completing more quests, but Nileno will eventually send you to more quest givers.

  Obtain Hlaalu rank six. After completing enough quests, Hlaalu will promote you to rank six and reward you with a random gift. There is a chance that gift will be a Wild Sparksword, but your character must be at least level 12. If the Wild Sparksword does not appear, you will be given a different shortsword, usually of equal value.
