Learn apprentice blacksmithing from any blacksmithing trainer. They can be found in all the cities and virtually every town. Your character must be at least level five before he can learn blacksmithing.
Learn recipes for blacksmithing from the trainer. The skill level you need to learn each recipe is indicated next to it. You must continuously learn new recipes so that you can increase your skill.
Create any blacksmithing items until your skill reaches at least 50. The color of the item name indicates approximately how likely your skill will increase when you make this item. Making an item with an orange name always increases your skill by one. An item with a yellow name has a 50 percent to 75 percent chance of increasing your skill. An item with a green name has less than a 50 percent chance of increasing your skill. Items with grey names never increase your skill.
Learn journeyman blacksmithing from any trainer. You must have 50 blacksmithing skill and at least a level ten to learn this ability.
Create any blacksmithing item until you reach 125 blacksmithing skill.
Learn expert blacksmithing from any trainer. You must be at least level 20 to learn this ability.
Create any blacksmithing item until you reach 200 blacksmithing skill.
Learn artisan blacksmithing from any trainer. You must be at least level 35 to learn this ability.
Create any blacksmithing item until you reach 275 blacksmithing skill.
Learn master blacksmithing from any trainer. You must be at least level 50 to learn this ability.
Create any blacksmithing item until your blacksmithing skill is between 325 and 350. The recipes used to create adamantite equipment are in this range. You can learn most of these recipes from the blacksmithing trainer. Some of these recipes can be learned from blacksmithing recipes dropped by enemies or sold on the auction house by other players.
Create any blacksmithing item until your skill level is 375. At this point, you can create hardened adamantite weapons and armor from every recipe.
