Instructions
Pick up the first piece of Rodger's coat of arms. Look at the bottom of the banister on the right hand side of the stairs. You don't need this specifically to escape from the portrait room, but it is required after you have escaped the portrait room.
Look across to the left banister of the stairs that are in front of you. Notice that at the end of each banister is a lighter section, illuminated from the stained-glass window light. In front of the light section of the left banister is a part of Rodger's door lock. Pick it up. Also take the jug of water located just underneath it.
Click on the door to the right hand side of the game screen. Find the door by looking underneath the stained glass window on the upper right of the screen. The door is located between the two candles. Click in the door to zoom into it and get a closer look.
Put the part of Rodger's door lock into the door lock. This will activate a puzzle that you must solve to get through the door and get past the portrait room. Think of the puzzle as having an inner circle made up of six hexagons and an outer circle made up of 10 hexagons with spaces at the two and eight o' clock positions. Place the piece of the door lock into the bottom slot in the inner circle.
Move the hexagon in the nine o' clock position to the right so that it sits in the upper left position in the inner circle. Move the hexagon in the 11 o' clock position to the 10 o' clock position in the outer circle. Slide the hexagon from the three o' clock position into the top right slot in the inner circle. Move the hexagon from the five o' clock position into the remaining spot in the inner circle. Finish by moving the hexagon in the seven o' clock position into the six o' clock position. The door will now open.
