How to Create a Private Guild Chat in World of Warcraft

Chat is the primary form of text-based communications in World of Warcraft. The chat window is located on the bottom-left side of the screen when logged into the game. The chat window logs information on quests as well as the communication of people around you. Chat logs can only be seen by the players' own faction -- Horde or Alliance -- unless the opposing faction uses special commands. You can switch between chat channels by typing the forward-slash symbol on your keyboard followed by the number or letter assigned to the chat channel.

Instructions

    • 1

Load "World of Warcraft." Login using a character that is a member of a guild.

    • 2

Click on the chat bar and type: "/g" or "/guild" to open a private guild chat. This chat will be seen by only members of your guild that are logged on.

    • 3

Enter "/o" or "/officer" to open a private guild chat with guild officers. This feature is only available to officers determined by the guild permissions.
