Purpose
"World of Warcraft" game is a massively multiplayer online game. Games of this type allow users worldwide to connect and play together. A player can decide to team up with other players or to fight other players. When you begin playing the game, you must choose a side. You then fight against others to build your skills and honor levels, as well as complete tasks to improve your character's crafting and professional skills.
Storyline
"World of Warcraft" is set in an imaginary world called Azeroth. Azeroth is inhabited by many races and cultures, each ruled by its own government. Two major factions are at war with each other over control of the entire land. Your character's challenge is to complete quests, earn money, improve skills and find objects that are useful to you and your journey. Though you may occasionally become involved in the fight between the two factions, most of your game play involves fighting computer-controlled monsters and completing quests. Expansion packs grant you access to new areas of the game.
Character Development
When you first begin playing "World of Warcraft" you must create your character. In addition to selecting the side on which you want your character to fight, you can choose the race of your character based on those available for each side. Within each race, several class levels are available. The look of your character is also customizable, allow you to differentiate your character from the others in the game.
Leveling
One of the most important aspects of "World of Warcraft" is increasing the level of your character as quickly as possible. This often takes a long time, even if you play a lot. To level your character, you must increase your skill levels and complete tasks. Players can take their time and complete the missions, or they can get through each level as quickly as possible to reach the cap, which is as high as level 85 if you have all of the expansion packs. Many missions can be completed by yourself, but others require a team of players to work together to complete them.
Player Maturity
Because of the content of "World of Warcraft," it is rated for teenagers and older players. The game features user activities that are not appropriate for younger children, such as violence, drinking and suggestive themes. The game is also open for chatting, which allows users to interact with each other.
Technical Specs
Because "World of Warcraft" interacts online with other players, it is important to install it on a computer that can run it smoothly. This also includes using a broadband Internet connection while playing the game. Your computer should at least have an 800 MHz processor and 256 MB of random access memory, or RAM. The game also takes up 4,000 MB, or 4 GB, of space on your hard drive. The computer must also have DirectX 9.0 or higher installed to operate the game properly.
