How to Change the Title Screen in Pokemon Leaf Green

For die hard fans of the Pokemon franchise, replaying old Pokemon games on emulators may not be enough. Some fans may wish to see their favorite Pokemon on their "Pokemon LeafGreen" title screen rather than the Venusaur that is there naturally. For these players, they will need to hack their ROMs in order to see their preferred Pokemon.

Open UnLZ-GBA by double clicking its icon.

    • 2

Click the "OpenFile" button and select your "Pokemon LeafGreen" ROM.

    • 3

    • 5

Open the Venusaur tile set picture in your paint program.

    • 6

Use UnLZ-GBA to save the sprite of the Pokemon you want on the title screen to the same place as your Venusaur.

    • 7

Open the sprite in your paint program and recolor it using the gray scale palette you saw in the Venusaur picture.

    • 8

Click back to the Venusaur tile set and delete the Venusaur from the picture.

    • 9
