How to Get Behind the Bookcase in Sims 2: Apartment Life

The new objects and design capabilities in "Sims 2: Apartment Life" are all about saving space. Why waste precious wall space for a door and a bookcase when you can merge them both into one? There is a special bookcase within "Sims 2: Apartment Life" that doubles as a doorway. If your Sim buys this bookcase and uses it correctly, he will be able to get behind the bookcase and use it as a passageway to the next room.

  Go into Buy Mode and purchase the Very Mysterious Shelving. You can find it under Hobbies and then Knowledge. Or, if you have your Buy Mode objects sorted by room, the Very Mysterious Shelving is located under Study, Living Room or Bedroom. The Very Mysterious Shelving costs 1,200 Simoleons.

  Place the Very Mysterious Shelving against an empty wall in your Sim's house. Then go back to Buy Mode, purchase another Very Mysterious Shelving and place it on the wall opposite from the one you just placed, so that they are back to back.

  Direct your Sim to go to the bookcase and choose to read a book. Then select "Mysteriously Mysterious Mystery Novel" and watch as your Sim walks through the bookcase as it swivels and emerges on the other side.
