How to Change a Flyff Screen

"Flyff," or "Fly for Fun," is a free massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Gala Lab for the PC. "Flyff" allows gamers all over the world to group together to fight monsters and ride the skies on flying clouds. The game stands apart from other free MMORPGs, with its attractive 3D visuals and colorful character designs. Devoted fans have found ways to further enhance the game through hacks and tweaks. For example, gamers who wish to alter the menu and load screens can do so by creating a new image and inserting it into the "Flyff" installation directory.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the "Flyff" directory, and view the images to be altered on your computer. If you accepted the default path while installing "Flyff," the game's images will be found in the following directory: "C:\Program Files\Gpotato\Flyff\Theme\English\." The ".tga" and ".bmp" files found here are alterable images used in the game.

    • 2

Make a 1024 x 769 image with a ".tga" or ".bmp" file extension (to match the images you want to change). Launch your image-editing software (such as Adobe Photoshop or The GIMP). Select "New" under the "File" menu and specify the 1024 x 769 dimensions before clicking "OK" to create the new image.

    • 3

Create a design of your choosing. Select "Save As" under the "File" menu, and specify ".tga" or ".bmp" as the file extension. Under the "File name" field, type in a name that matches the file you wish to alter, then click "Save."

    • 4

Exit your image-editing program (choose "Exit" under the "File" menu). Launch the "Flyff" client by double-clicking "flyff.exe" in the "C:\Program Files\Flyff\" directory. Allow the game to update before replacing any files (or the game will overwrite the images you alter).

    • 5

Create a backup copy of the image to be altered. Should game-related errors or incompatibility issues arise from replacing files, the backup file can once again be inserted into the game folder. Right-click on the image you wish to change, select "Copy," minimize the folder's window, and press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys to paste the image to your desktop.

    • 6

Click and drag, using the mouse (or copy and paste) to move the image file you created into the "C:\Program Files\Gpotato\Flyff\Theme\English\" directory. Choose to replace the file in the resulting pop-up menu.

    • 7

Press the "Start" button on the "Flyff" console to begin the game. Log into your account, and you will find that you have successfully changed a screen in "Flyff."
