How to Make Gunpowder in Minecraft Alpha

"Minecraft" is a popular independent sandbox game developed by Markus Persson for PC. In the alpha version of "Minecraft," players are dropped into a huge game world with nothing but an empty backpack. To survive, you must gather resources from the environment and build structures to protect yourself from the wild. One of the resources available in the game is gunpowder. Gunpowder can be used to clear large amounts of earth with very little effort. Obtaining gunpowder is a task filled with danger, as the only way to find it is to kill the dreaded creeper monsters.

     Kill spiders and skeletons at night to gather strings and arrows.

     Create a bow by combining three strings and three wood sticks. The strings must be placed in the left or right column of the workbench, while the sticks must be placed in the top and bottom middle slots and the far right or left middle slot.

     Kill creepers at night using your bow and arrow to make gunpowder appear. The gunpowder will be left where the creeper died.
