How To Install Fallout 3 1.4V

Patch 1.4 is a March 2009 update for "Fallout 3" that prepared "Fallout 3" for the release of "The Pitt," a new game area available as downloadable content, or "DLC," purchased separately from "Fallout 3." Patch 1.4 adds new game achievements for "The Pitt" and updates "Fallout 3" to recognize and load multiple pieces of DLC. Your version of "Fallout 3" will automatically update if you are playing the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or Steam versions, but you will need to download and run the 1.4 patch program to update the retail version of "Fallout 3."

  Navigate your Internet browser to a web page with download links to current and outdated "Fallout 3" patches. The official "Fallout 3" web page hosts the most recent patches, and many other gaming web sites, such as Fallout 3 Nexus, host all released patches for "Fallout 3."

  Click the download link for the version of patch 1.4 that matches your version of "Fallout 3." "Fallout 3" is available in a variety of languages, so you must apply the patch version that matches your version of "Fallout 3." A download prompt window will appear after you click the download link.

  Click the "Run" button in the download prompt to download your chosen patch. The patch program will automatically start once the patch has downloaded completely. An update confirmation window will appear when the patch program starts.

  Click the "OK" button in the update confirmation window. The patch program will update your "Fallout 3" game files and shut down once the update process is complete. "Fallout 3" is now patched to version 1.4.
