How to Kill Zombies in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

You will encounter Zombies wandering around the Zone in "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl." They are former humans that have suffered prolonged exposure in heavily radiated areas. Although they stumble around like stereotypical zombies, Zombies are still capable of operating their weapons, often shooting at players from the hip. Their inaccurate weapon fire can be deadly when you encounter them in groups, at which point you must decide to kill them quickly or retreat. You will run across Zombies later in the game in the Wild Territory, Yantar, Red Forest, the X16 lab and occasionally in Pripyat.

     Approach the zombie and get close enough for a head shot with your best long-range weapon. This distance can be greater with rifles and other scoped weapons.

   • 2

     Look down your weapon sight and aim at the zombie's head.

   • 3

     Press the Primary Fire button to shoot the zombie in the head. Return your weapon sight to the zombie's head and fire again.

   • 4

     Repeat this until the zombie is dead. The number of shots necessary varies by weapon and difficulty setting.
