How to Mine Stone in Minecraft

In 2009, Mojang Games released the first version of the creation computer game "Minecraft." Aside from crafting items, the No. 1 task most people perform in "Minecraft" is mining stone because you can use all of the stone you mine to craft hundreds of different items. All stone requires a pickaxe for you to harvest its resources, but some stone requires better-quality pickaxes.

Instructions

    • 1

Press "I" to open your inventory.

    • 2

Click any pickaxe in your inventory depending on what kind of stone you want to mine. Regular light gray stone requires at least a wooden pickaxe, iron ore requires at least a stone pickaxe, and the rest of the available ore requires at least an iron pickaxe.

    • 3

Click one of the empty equipment slots, which is the row of squares beneath your inventory. You can scroll through your equipment items to hold them. Press "I" again to close the inventory screen.

    • 4

Scroll your mouse wheel until your character holds the pickaxe.

    • 5

Hold the left mouse button down where you want to mine. If you are mining straight down, you will likely have to go through a few layers of sand, dirt and gravel before you come across stone.
