How to Turn a Garage Door in Sims 2

"The Sims 2" is the second in the best-selling series of "Sims" video games. In the games, players create virtual characters, or "sims," and run their lives. In "The Sims 2," a player can build a garage attached to his home. The default setting is for the garage to face the street. If you would rather have the garage face the side of your lot, you will have to make some modifications to the game. The process does not always work on all lots, so you may have experiment with a few different lots and positions.

Instructions

    • 1

Open "The Sims 2." Go to a new, blank lot to practice the technique before you try to turn the garage on an existing plot.

    • 2

Place the driveway for the garage onto the lot where you want to place the garage.

    • 3

Build the walls for the garage. Make sure the garage is at least 5 squares wide and 8 squares long.

    • 4

Press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "C" all at the same time. Type "moveobjects" into the bar that pops up. Delete the sidewalk from the opposite side of the street.

    • 5

Open the driveway section of the "Build" menu and select the driveway extenders. Place them inside the garage.

    • 6

Click the garage doors on the "Build" menu and place them on the wall between the driveway and the driveway extenders inside the garage. The garage doors will now be turned to the side, rather than to the front as they normally are.
