How to Get Motes in Vanguard

Motes of ancient power are quest items in "Vanguard: Saga of Heroes" used to upgrade the weapons awarded in the quest "Ancient Weapons of Leth Verael." There are two ways to get motes, but both require you already have earned one of the upgradable weapons. It takes 300 motes of ancient power, in addition to other materials, to upgrade any of the ancient weapons of Leth Verael.

Instructions

  Go to the Wardship of the Sleeping Moon in Thestra.

  Talk to Thorian Glowbane. His coordinates are "14020, -18140, 11699." He gives the quest "Ancient Weapons of Leth Verael." You need to be level 38 and have 12000 Celestine Ward reputation to get this quest.

  Go to the Lair of the Drake Riders in Thelaseen. Kill any five enemies with a unique name. The enemies you can kill to complete this quest objective are Emissary N'Vind, High Lord Sho'Dar, Llyn Elgyre, Lolthor the Alchemist, Valien Elgyre, Vodel the Sneak and Yalsyl Vonalys. If you are attempting this quest at level 38, you are going to need a group to kill these enemies. Around level 50, a player can take these enemies down without assistance.

  Go to the Fallen Temple in the Ruins of Vol Tuniel. Kill any five enemies with a unique name. The enemies you can kill for this quest objective are Bloodtail Ruulsh, Crazed Lorekeeper, Dreadwing, Ghostwing, Oorbor, Pestilent Wind and Quivering Devourer.

  Return to Thorian Glowbane.

  Choose the ancient weapon of Leth Verael you want as your quest reward. This now allows you to gain motes of ancient power.

  Trade ancient armor to Thorian Glowbane to gain motes. You gain five motes for belts, bracers and sleeves. You gain 15 motes for shoulders, gloves and boots. Chest pieces and leggings give 30 motes.

  Kill any enemy with a unique name in Thelaseen to gain motes. You gain about five motes of ancient power from each named enemy you kill. There is a random factor to the number of motes gained with each kill.
