How to Enter an Instance to Recover a Corpse in World of Warcraft

Players can join up into teams of five to progress through dungeons in the massively multiplayer online game "World of Warcraft." These dungeons are instanced to each group, preventing any other players who are not a part of that group from participating or interfering. Instanced dungeons may be a great source of high-quality armor and weapons, but they can also be quite dangerous for an unprepared group. It is important to know how to retrieve a corpse from an instance so you can attempt to defeat a dungeon again after you die.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Release Spirit" button after you have died. The spirit of your character will be split from the corpse and taken to the graveyard closest to the dungeon you died in.

    • 2

Open your map with the "M" key or by pressing the "World Map" button in the top right corner of the screen. Find the grave marker on the map that displays where your corpse is located.

    • 3

Travel in ghost form to the instance entrance. This should be located near your corpse but may not be at the exact same location. A message will appear in the center of your screen when you are close telling you to enter the instance to recover your corpse.

    • 4

Enter the instance. You do not need to find the exact location of your body inside the instance. You will be returned to your body as soon as you enter.
