How to Remove SecuRom in Mercenaries II

"Mercenaries 2: World in Flames" is a sandbox action adventure game developed by Pandemic Studios for multiple gaming platforms. The computer version installs a controversial copy protection program, "SecuROM," that limits the number of machines the owner may install the program to. This restriction is difficult to remove, and what's more, SecuROM files remain on a computer even after "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames" is uninstalled. However, there are special tools provided by the SecuROM support website that can be downloaded to remove SecuROM from your computer.

Instructions

  Visit the SecuROM support website. Click the link that says "please click here for the SecuROM Removal Tool" to go to the SecuROM Removal Tool information page.

  Read the information on the page. Right-click the red link and specify a download directory on your computer to obtain the file. Wait for the download to finish.

  Use your preferred file compression utility to unzip the program. If you do not already have a means to uncompress files, obtain WinZip or WinRAR from their respective websites and double-click their executable files to install. With a file compression program installed, right-click the "removal_tool.zip" file and choose to extract the files to create a new, accessible folder called "removal_tool."

  Open the "removal_tool" folder and double-click "SecuRom Remover.exe" to launch the program. Indicate that you agree to the EULA terms. This must be done to use the tool. Click "Next" and the tool will search your system for all traces of SecuROM.

  Click "Next" again to remove the SecuROM files from your computer. Allow the tool to proceed with the deletion process. Once finished, the tool will display the end results and you may exit the program.

  Delete the "removal_tool" folder and the "removal_tool.zip" files once you have successfully removed SecuROM from "Mercenaries 2: World in Flames." You may now install the game to any machine without restriction.
