S.P.E.C.I.A.L. and Perks
During character creation your stats, known as your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. (an acronym for each of the stats), are fully customizable. You have 5 base stat points and 5 points to add where you wish. Points can even be removed and added elsewhere, such as if you were to lower Perception to 1 point and add the additional 4 points to Strength. You can achieve 10 Agility points, the cap for all S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, right at the beginning if you choose to. Once you've begun the game and reached level 2, you can begin to choose perks: additional abilities and skills for your character. You gain 1 perk point every level, which can be spent on the Intense Training perk, which raises the stat of your choice by 1 point for every rank.
Armor
Most armor, in addition to the defensive rating, comes with stat modifiers that raise or lower your basic stats. To increase Agility, you can equip any of the pre-war clothing that can be found laying around the ruins of burned out buildings, which carry plus-1 Agility as a common modifier. The various forms of pre-war clothing are some of the most common items in the game, and can be easily found in suitcases, dressers and cabinets. However, pre-war clothing provides little physical defense. A more robust Agility-modifying armor can be found in Canterbury Commons, east of Minefield, during the quest "The Superhuman Gambit." The AntAgonizer wears ant-themed armor that gives plus-1 Agility and 20 points of damage resistance. Kill her during the quest and remove her armor for yourself.
Food
In the town of Grayditch, southeast of Megaton and north of Marigold Station, you can undertake a quest called "Those!" which pits you against giant, mutated ants. Some of the ants breathe fire, making them deadly in close encounters. However, killing the Fire Ants is worth it so that you can loot their bodies for Fire Ant Nectar. The nectar is a powerful, non-addictive drug that gives plus-25 fire resistance and plus-4 Agility lasting for two full minutes. Be careful when looking for Fire Ant Nectar, because you may come across normal Ant Nectar. Ant Nectar gives plus-4 Strength that lasts 4 minutes, and unlike Fire Ant Nectar, there is a danger of addiction.
Bobblehead
Scattered throughout the game are Vault-tech collectible Bobbleheads featuring Fallout's mascot, the Vault Boy. Each Bobblehead permanently adjusts one stat or skill, such as explosives skill, by plus-1 for stats and plus-10 for skills. There is a Bobblehead for every stat and skill your character has. The Agility Bobblehead is in the Greener Pastures Disposal Site in the northeast corner of the map Wasteland. On the West side of the facility is the main office. Inside the main office is a desk with a computer terminal with an Average security rating. The Bobblehead is sitting next to the terminal.
