How to Play as a Dinosaur on Jurassic Park for the PC Only

"Jurassic Park III: Scan Command" is a strange, turn-based strategy entry in the video game movie tie-in franchise. Rather than battling dinosaurs, players take control of a group of children who take control of dinosaurs and use them to battle evil dinosaur clones created by Dr. Corts. Players unlock powers and new dinosaurs by using a barcode-reading peripheral to scan barcodes found in the game and those on objects in the real word.

  Take your Scan Command scanner to the store and scan as many barcodes as you can. Any item in any store that has a barcode can be used: cereal, toys, kitchen appliances --- it doesn't matter, as long as it has a barcode.

  Connect your scanner to your computer using the provided USB cord.

  Start the game. The game will automatically detect your scans, unlocking new dinosaurs and attacks and allowing you to fight the evil clone dinosaurs in arena-type battles.

  Choose your dinosaur's posture. On the lower half of your screen you will have four buttons that correspond with the postures you wish your dinosaur to take. The postures are "flanking," which will cause your dinosaur to circle behind its opponent; "defensive," which reduces damage; "aggressive," which increases damage; and "hold your ground," which cancels other postures. You can switch these postures on the fly by pressing their buttons with the mouse.

  Attack your opponent by pressing one of six attack buttons to the right of the posture buttons. These moves are unlocked by scanning barcodes on your computer's screen, and more quickly by scanning many real-world barcodes.
