How to Fix Aion (1024) Error

The 1024 error generated by Aion, a fantasy MMORPG from NCSoft, is caused by having corrupted or incorrect versions of some critical files. Ensuring that all clients have the same version of each file is a difficult task, and inevitably some things fall through the cracks. Sometimes, this error can be fixed by reapplying recent patches. However, if that should fail, it is important to know how to get your game back on track so that you can continue playing.

     Open the Control Panel and select "Uninstall a program."

     Wait for the window to pop up and to fill with a list of programs -- it may take a few minutes. Find Aion, and click "Uninstall."

     Navigate to the Aion website, click the "Aion Account" button located at the top of the site, and select the "Download Client" option.

     Reinstall Aion and allow it to patch. This will completely replace every file in the game, correcting the 1024 error.
