How to Run Faery Tale Adventure II on DOSBox

"Faery Tale Adventure II -- Halls of the Dead" is a 1997 role-playing game from Encore Software. The game is aimed at a younger audience and has players control three brothers -- Julian, Phillip and Kevin -- as they work their way through a variety of mini-quests. "Faery Tale Adventure II" cannot be run in modern-day Windows, and instead needs to be run in MS-DOS. However, gamers who have the program DOSBox on their computer can run "Faery Tale Adventure II" through that instead, which allows them to stay in Windows while playing the game.

  Open DOSBox by double-clicking the dosbox.exe file on your hard drive.

  Enter "Z:\>Mount C C:\Games" into the window that appears, replacing the word "Games" with the name of the folder that contains the sub-folder for "Faery Tale Adventure II -- Halls of the Dead." Press "Enter."

  Type "Z:\>C:" into the DOSBox window. Press "Enter."

  Type "C:\>Faery Tale" into window, press "Enter," then type "C:\Faery Tale>" and press "Enter" again. Replace "Faery Tale" with the name of the folder where "Faery Tale Adventure II -- Halls of the Dead" file is stored.

  Type "C:\Faery Tale>FTGame.exe" into DOSBox, then press "Enter." Replace "Faery Tale" with the name of the folder your game is in and replace "FTGame.exe" with the name of the file in that folder that ends with the exe file extension. The game will now load.
