How to Get a Prairie Chicken on WoW

"World of Warcraft" players can acquire a small pet chicken, although it's no longer known as the prairie chicken. The chicken does not assist players in combat. It follows the player around as a companion. Players obtain the chicken, unlike most other companion pets in the game, through a secret quest of sorts. Both the horde and alliance can add the pet to their companion collection. The chicken counts toward the various companion achievements, such as the achievement that requires 50 companions.

Instructions

  Visit Saldean's Farm in Westfall and purchase Special Chicken Feed from Farmer Saldean, if you're alliance. Go to Brill and purchase Special Chicken Feed from William Saldean, if you're horde.

  Click one of the many chicken's that roam the area. Press "Enter" on your keyboard, type "/chicken" and press "Enter" again. Your character will begin clucking at the chicken. Repeat this process until the chicken's nameplate turns green and a yellow exclamation mark appears over its head.

  Right-click the chicken and accept the Cluck quest. With the chicken still targeted, type "/cheer" and press "Enter." A yellow question mark will appear over the chicken's head. Right-click the chicken and click "Complete quest." An egg will appear next to the chicken.

  Right-click the egg. The item will appear in your inventory. Right-click it again in your inventory to add the pet chicken to your collection. To summon the chicken, open your spellbook and click "Companions."
