How to Use a Crossbow in World of Warcraft

In addition to melee weapons, certain characters in "World of Warcraft," a massively multiplayer online role playing game, can wield ranged weapons, including crossbows. Crossbows generally come with higher damage, but a slower attack speed compared with regular bows. Before you can use a crossbow, you must equip it. Unless you're a hunter, you only need to press a single button to use the bow. Hunters have a variety of abilities that use the crossbow.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine if your character can use a crossbow. Not all characters can use crossbows. For example, paladins cannot use bows, but warriors can. To check if your character can equip a crossbow, open your spellbook and click the "General" tab. Highlight "Weapon Skills," which may be on page one or two. The weapons you can equip will appear in a box. If "Crossbow" is not on the list, you cannot equip one.

Purchase or find a crossbow. Random enemies drop crossbows after they're defeated. Typically, the most powerful crossbows drop from dungeon bosses. You can also purchase the weapon from the auction house, which is located in each major city and the neutral goblin towns.

Equip the crossbow by right-clicking it in your inventory. Open your spellbook and drag the "Shoot" icon from the "General" section to a slot on your action bar. Select an enemy target and click "Shoot" to use the crossbow. If you are a hunter, all ranged abilities automatically fire the bow.
