"Totem Tribes" is a hybrid turn-based strategy puzzle game. Rather than focusing on resource management, players create and unlock units, solve complex puzzles and locate hidden objects. In many of the missions the player will be assigned they will have to destroy crystals. While other puzzles may revolve around the destruction of the crystals, the actual method for destroying them remains the same in every level.

Walk up to the crystal pedestal.

Identify the crystal. Thurisaz crystals are green, Fehu are orange and Ur are blue.

Set the correct totem on the pedestal. A lightning totem will destroy Thurisaz, frost totems will break the Ur and Fehu are vulnerable to fire totems.
