How to Fix an Ejection Port in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

"S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl" is a first-person shooter developed by GSC Game World. THQ, the publisher, released the game in March 2007. Gamers play a character with no memory, tasked with exploring the radioactive wasteland inspired by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. You will need to download new models if you want accuracy in the portrayal of the weapons used in the game. The default weapons in the game have an ejection port, where spent shell casings are ejected, on the wrong side.

Instructions

    • 1

Download weapon models with the ejection port on the correct side of the weapon.

    • 2

Locate the downloaded file. This may be compressed into an archive like a .zip or .rar file. Open the archive if it is compressed.

    • 3

Extract the compressed file into your "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl" installation directory. Overwrite the old files if prompted to do so. Cut and paste the files into the folder for the weapon model within the "textures" folder located in the "gamedata" folder if the files are not compressed or if they are not already in the "gamedata" folder. For example, a downloaded weapon with the fixed ejection port should be placed in the "wpn" folder in the "textures" folder.
