How Can I Install Age of Empires 3 on a Secondary Drive?

"Age of Empires III" is the third installment in the historical real-time strategy "Age of Empires" series. The game will by default install itself onto your computer's main "C:" drive when you start the setup program. You can set it to install to a secondary hard drive -- or even an external hard drive or USB pen drive, if you so desire -- from within the setup program itself.

  Insert the installation disc into the computer's CD drive. An auto-run dialog box will pop up. If the auto-run does not start, open "My Computer" and double-click the CD drive icon.

  Click the "Install" button. This will launch the "AOEIII" setup program.

  Click through the menus until you reach the screen asking you where you wish to install the game.

  Select the text in the "Install Path" textbox and type in the desired path. To install the game to the "D:" drive in the "Games" folder, for instance, you would type "D:\Games" into the text box.

  Click "Next" to begin the automated installation process. You will be notified when the process has finished.
