How to Kill the Beast in The Witchers

Geralt of Rivia, the protagonist of "The Witcher" for PC, is tasked with hunting down and eliminating unnatural creatures from the world. One such creature is The Beast, a specter which is terrorizing the villagers on the outskirts of Vizima. To gain access to the city of Vizima, Geralt is tasked with hunting down and destroying this creature in the Chapter 1 quest "Of Monsters and Men." The Beast is harder than any creature Geralt has faced thus far in his adventures.

Instructions

- 1
  Drink a Swallow potion at the beginning of the fight. This potion can be crafted or bought from most merchants. When consumed, this potion regenerates Geralt's health during a fight.

  Apply Specter Oil to your weapon. This oil can be crafted or bought from a merchant. The Specter Oil allows you to deal extra damage to specters.

  Use the group-style combat stance to defeat the miniature versions of The Beast that appear, called Barghests, before attacking The Beast.

  Use the strong-style combat stance when facing The Beast one-on-one to deal the maximum amount of damage to him.

  Roll to the left or to the right to dodge The Beast's attacks. Attack The Beast immediately after dodging one of these attacks.

  Run away from The Beast when your health is low, giving you time to regenerate your health due to the Swallow potion. You can also use any health potions to heal your health as well.

  Continue to attack The Beast until his health meter, shown as a circle under his feet, is depleted. When his health is depleted, The Beast dies.
