How to Get Unlimited FPS in FSX

"Flight Simulator X" is the latest installment of Microsoft's long-running flight simulation game series for Windows-based computer systems. Simulating weather conditions, aircraft characteristics, flight physics and major locations around the world, "Flight Simulator X" is very resource-intensive, and frame rates during game play can fluctuate based on in-game conditions. Frame rates are limited according to the "Target Frame Rate" setting in the "Flight Simulator X" settings menu, and you can change the "Target Frame Rate" setting to "Unlimited" to remove the frame rate limitation.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch "Flight Simulator X," and navigate to the main menu. Click the "Settings" option, and then click the "Customize" option to open the settings customization window.

    • 2

Click the "Graphics" tab in the settings customization window. Click the marker on the "Target Frame Rate" slider and drag the marker to the "Unlimited" end of the slider. Click the "OK" button to save the settings change. Graphics settings will not take effect until you restart "Flight Simulator X".

    • 3

Close "Flight Simulator X" by clicking the "X" button in the upper-right corner of the "Flight Simulator X" window.

    • 4

Launch "Flight Simulator X" to affect the change made to the "Target Frame Rate" slider. "Flight Simulator X" will now display game play at the highest possible frame rate.
