How to Host on Open Battle.Net for D2

"Diablo II", also known as "D2", is an action-adventure game developed by Blizzard Entertainment for Windows and Mac-based computer systems. You can play "Diablo II" in a variety of different modes, including single-player, Open Battle.net and Closed Battle.net. Battle.net is Blizzard Entertainment's online game system and allows you to host and join games with other players. Closed Battle.net is a secure service that hosts games and stores all player data on the Battle.net server, while Open Battle.net allows you to play your single-player characters online with other players by hosting games on your own computer.

Instructions

      Launch "Diablo II." Click the "Other Multi-player" option in the main menu, and then click the "Open Battle.net" option. You will be taken to the Battle.net log-in screen.

      Type your Battle.net account name and password in the Battle.net log-in text fields, and then click the "OK" button. You will be taken to the character selection screen. Select a character you would like to play. The main Open Battle.net screen opens.

      Click the "Create" button on the right side of the main Open battle.net screen. The game creation screen opens. Adjust game-specific settings, such as the game name, game description, game password, number of players and difficulty.

      Click the "Launch Game" button. You will start a game of "Diablo II" and host the game until you disconnect from the game.
