Using Fraps
Download Fraps from fraps.com. You may download a trial version or purchase the software for $37, as of June 2011. The free version watermarks each video and limits the length to 30 seconds.
Launch Fraps. Once Fraps is launched, you may change settings such as video capture size, frame rate and where to save videos.
Open Aion. Log in to your account and begin playing. You will notice a yellow counter in the corner of the screen. This is the frames per second as counted by Fraps.
Press F9 to begin recording. The yellow counter will become red to indicate that recording has begun.
Press F9 again to stop recording. Videos will be saved in the Fraps folder unless you specified otherwise.
Using Xfire
Download Xfire from xfire.com. Xfire is a free game tool that allows users to chat with friends, join their games and record video.
Launch Xfire.
Create or log into a Xfire account.
Click "Tools," then "Options" and select the "Video" tab. Here you can set the key binding for recording, the frame rate and whether or not to capture sound.
Launch Aion.
Press Scroll Lock and V at the same time to begin recording video. This may have changed if you chose a different keybinding. Press the combination a second time to stop recording. Videos will save in the Xfire folder. The location of this is listed under the "Video" options.
Using GameCam
Download Gamecam from Gamecamportal.com. There is a free trial version and a pay version for $29.95. The trial features a watermark and is limited to 24 seconds per video.
Launch Gamecam.
Click on "Gamecam" on your taskbar and select "Options." Select the "Video" tab to change recording settings.
Launch Aion.
Press the "Home" button to start and stop recording. Videos will be saved to the Windows "Video" folder under "Libraries."
