Instructions

    • 1

Start the computer, but do not start the Sims game. Move the mouse to the bottom of the screen, and click the "Start" button in the left corner.

    • 2

Select the "All Programs" option on the bottom of the Menu and select "EA Games." Scroll through the options until "Sims 2" is found, and click on it. Select "The Sims 2 Body Shop" to open the shop.

    • 3

Move the mouse over the "Create Parts" option once the body shop has loaded. Start a new project by choosing the option and click on "Create Clothing."

    • 4

Find the outfit or piece of clothing that will be changed. Select the item's folder with the mouse once the item is found. Type the name of the project in the box provided to rename it.

    • 5

Minimize the body shop menu by clicking the "-" in the top right corner of the screen. Open a program, such as Paint or Photoshop.

    • 6

Move the mouse to select "File" found along the top of the Photoshop or Paint screen. Move down the options, and select "Open" and "My Documents." Move the Mouse over the "EA Games" in this folder and then onto "Sims 2" and "Projects," which will open the clothing item to be altered.

    • 7

Start with the plain black and white file. Experiment with covering different portions of the outfit with white or black to change the shape of the outfit. Open the second file to work with the color of the outfit. Experiment with different options to get different looks.

    • 8

Move back to the "Body Shop" window. Move the mouse over the circle arrow to see the altered outfit on the Sim model. Move through the options to choose a category for the outfit, name it and click on the folder to import the outfit back into the game.

    • 9

Repeat the steps to alter hair, but select "Create Genetics" instead of "Create Clothing." Select the head for the Sim and choose a hair color to alter. Move the mouse over the green background surrounding the hair color to select "Export Selected Textures." Type the name of the file and continue with the same steps to alter the house as with the clothing.
