Decide whether you want the wedding to be completely in-game or if you want the guests to be present in real life as well. Guests can login to your wedding virtually, from anywhere, making real wedding plans, like travel and accommodation, unnecessary. Having the guests present while also in the game may be difficult, as everyone must have their computers in the same room. This would be great for small weddings -- under 10 people -- but very difficult for large weddings.
Plan the location, date and time. In games like "World of Warcraft," enemy players take pride in ruining your "fun," which is why it is important to pick a location that is safe from harm. Normal realms -- not player-versus-player, capital cities or areas controlled by your faction are the most secure areas. However, you may want to have the wedding in an area important to you and your soon-to-be spouse, which is why publicity is so important.
Privately invite guests. Never announce the wedding in a public forum, only privately, to prevent unwelcome attendees. Send out real invitations, private emails or on your guild's forum. Let the guests know exactly what to expect and if they need to dress up or have a "World of Warcraft" account. If one of your friends has a priest -- one of the classes in the game -- ask them to "perform" the ceremony.
Acquire outfits for the wedding. In the game, items like tuxedos and wedding dresses can be found, traded or bought from tailors or the auction house. "Formal White Shirt," "Tuxedo Shirt," "Tuxedo Jacket," "Tuxedo Pants," "Antique Silver Cufflinks," "White Wedding Dress" and "Dress Shoes" are some available formal wear items.
Find rings and a bouquet. There are many rings available in the game, but "Flawless Diamond Solitaire," "The Rock" and "Gold Wedding Band" are specifically made with marriage in mind. You can buy a single "Red Rose" or "Black Rose," as well as a "Bouquet of Black Roses" or "Bouquet of Red Roses."
Prepare effects. Fireworks and explosions are available for guests to set off after the nuptials, including "Red Fireworks Rocket," "Green Firework" and "Festival Firecracker." During holidays like Valentine's Day, there are celebrations with new items, such as "Silver Shafted Arrow" and "Love Rockets" that can be shot off after the ceremony.
