How to Drop Food for the Dog Quest in World of Warcraft

The goal of the quest "Walking the Dog" in "World of Warcraft" is to feed five pieces of charred basilisk meat to a spawn of Smolderos. Smolderos the Carbonizer is a two-headed dog that is perpetually on fire. He is only found on Mount Hyjal, where you receive the quest. The spawn of Smolderos can only be found by using the Fire Leash you are given at the beginning of the quest. You can only drop the meat to allow the spawn to eat in one specific manner.

Level 80 or higher character

Instructions

- 1
  Talk to Instructor Devoran in the Forge of Supplication on the eastern side of Mount Hyjal to get the quest. You cannot obtain or drop the meat until you have the actual quest.

  Kill five Spinescale Basilisks to obtain five pieces of charred basilisk meat. These can be found directly outside of the Forge of Supplication.

  Right-click on the Fire Leash in your inventory to summon the spawn of Smolderos. You are given this item by Instructor Devoran when you start "Walking the Dog." You cannot drop the meat for any other dog, even Smolderos the Carbonizer.

  Left-click on the spawn of Smolderos to target him.

  Right-click on the charred basilisk meat in your inventory to drop it on the ground. The spawn of Smolderos eats it once you do. You can return to Instructor Devoran to complete the quest after you drop five pieces of meat.
