How to Log Into PTR in World of Warcraft

When Blizzard is ready to give players access to a new "World of Warcraft" patch, it first implements the patch on its public test realms, or PTRs. The public test realms enable Blizzard to gauge the performance of the patch and catch any glaring bugs and glitches. Every WoW player is eligible to participate on the public test realms. After you download the public test client and copy over one of your characters to the public test realm, you can play until the patch is implemented on the live servers.

Instructions

Open the WoW launcher by double-clicking the game icon on your desktop. Click "Public Test" at the top of the launcher. A drop-down menu will appear. Click "Download Public Test." Your browser will launch the Battle.net login page.
