How to Install SMOD Outbreak

"SMOD Outbreak" is an optional modification for the science-fiction first-person shooter "Half Life 2," a game that players download using the Steam game distribution program. The "SMOD Outbreak" modification enhances "Half Life 2" by adding more hostile characters and zombies into the gameplay, creating an added challenge. The mod needs to be downloaded and placed into the mod folder within the Steam folder in Program Files to work appropriately with Steam.

     Navigate to a download site for the "SMOD Outbreak" modification.

     Click on the download link to automatically begin the download.

     Open your download folder and and right-click on the downloaded RAR file and select "Extract Files."

     Alter the destination folder so that the files extract in "C:\Program Files\Steamapps\Sourcemods."

     Restart "Steam" and look for "SMOD Outbreak" in the game list. Click on the icon to launch the game.
