How to Use a Laptop Mouse for the Controls in World of Warcraft

Although playing "World of Warcraft" with a laptop mouse feels completely different from playing with the laptop's touchpad, the controls don't drastically differ. There are a few minor differences when playing with a mouse, such as the ability to quickly zoom the camera in and out and the option of running by pressing the mouse buttons. You shouldn't have to alter any of the pre-existing key bindings when you plug in the mouse, as the game should automatically recognize the mouse and enable the correct key bindings.

Instructions

  Press down the left mouse button to select something, such as an item, ability or target.

  Press the right mouse button to perform an action. For example, to loot a corpse or open a door, you press the right mouse button.

  Use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom the camera in and out. For example, if you wish to zoom out, you would scroll back on the mouse wheel.

  Hold down both the left and mouse button to move. While you can still use the WSAD layout on the keyboard to move, you can also press down both the left and right mouse button to move in the direction you're facing.
