How to Make Waypoint on StarCraft

Tactical movements are an important element to navigating the battlefield in "StarCraft." You can set a precise path for a unit to follow with the waypoint tool. This allows you to carefully guide your units through potentially hostile areas or to take a specific route to a location rather than the shortest one, which most units will follow by default. Units will travel to one waypoint and then travel to the next waypoint you planted in sequence until they have completed the route you set. You can issue waypoints to any unit or group of units.

Instructions

    • 1

Left-click on any unit on the screen that is under your control to select it, or hold down the left mouse button and drag a net over multiple units to select several at once.

    • 2

Hold down "Shift" and then click on the "Attack" icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. Do not release "Shift."

    • 3

Left-click the point on the battlefield where you want to set a waypoint for the unit. Click the "Attack" icon again, and then select another waypoint on the battlefield to issue the next travel command.

    • 4

Continue to add waypoints like this until you have plotted the entire route for the unit, and then release "Shift."
