How to Get Dad's Stuff When He Dies in Fallout 3

"Fallout 3" is the 2008 Bethesda sequel to the 1990s interplay computer role-playing game (RPG) series, "Fallout." In "Fallout 3," the player controls the Lone Wanderer of the Wastes, a customizable character that leaves his home in search of his father, who is completing his life's work in the Capitol Wasteland of the former Washington, D.C.. Interaction with this character is brief, but like most characters, he can be manipulated by skilled players.

Instructions

  Accept "The Waters of Life" quest, then travel to the Jefferson Memorial Rotunda. This is the final quest in the game, so make sure you save before this point.

  Speak to your dad for a while, then a narrative sequence occurs where he attempts to start up the purification generator. Colonel Autumn of the Enclave will appear and your father will poison them both in the sealed room. After speaking his last words to you, he will collapse by the door.

  Go near the door and stand there. Hold down "Left Bumper" on the Xbox 360 or "Left Trigger" on the PlayStation 3 (PS3) to rotate the camera until you see the prompt "Search Dad." This will allow you to obtain Dad's jumpsuit and his 10mm pistol. Colonel Autumn's gear can be obtained in the same manner.
