How to Back Up Call of Duty 2 Profiles

"Call of Duty 2," a popular first-person shooter (FPS) game, saves each player's progress in the game's single-player and multiplayer modes under a pre-created profile. Your stats, such as records of how many enemies you've killed, are stored on this profile, making it valuable for a number of reasons to many players. The game automatically creates a directory for all of a profile's stored data, so profile data can be easily copied and stored in another location to protect against hard drive failure.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the game's directory using Windows Explorer. The game install directory will be located wherever you selected during the installation process, or at the default path, "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\."

    • 2

Double-click the "Main" folder to enter it, then double-click the "Players" folder to do the same. All profiles created using your computer will be displayed inside the folder.

    • 3

Right-click on your profile and select "Copy."

    • 4

Right-click in any other folder and click "Paste" to create a duplicate of your profile data, allowing you to restore your data if it ever becomes corrupted or lost through hard drive failure.
