How to Configure Text in the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Console

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" is a first-person shooter video game released for the computer in late 2007. Like many other computer games, the game features a developer's console where you can make slight modifications and bind keys to perform certain actions. For example, you can bind a key to automatically output a string of text, and you can even configure it to display different colors.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the grave/tilde key (`/~) on your keyboard to open the console.

    • 2

Type "bind X say Y" without the quotes. Replace "X" with the key you want to bind the command to. Replace "Y" with the string of text you want typed. For example, to say "I win," type "bind m say "I win"" and the text will appear when you press the "M" key.

    • 3

Insert the color codes where you want. Colors codes are the caret sign (^) followed by a number. Red is 1, green is 2, yellow is 3, blue is 4, light blue is 5, pink/purple is 6, white is 7, a randomly chosen color is 8 and black is 0. For example, if you want to bind the phrase "I win" to the letter "M," but want the word "win" to be colored red, type the code as follows: bind m say "I ^1win"

Press "Enter" to finalize your changes.
