How to Fix the Lag When Moving Your Mouse in Alien Vs. Predator

The game "Alien vs. Predator" was released in 2010 to little fanfare. Though the game had a competent shooting mode, Alien and Predator modes failed to satisfy, and the game was essentially considered a flop. If you picked up the PC version of the game, you may find some nasty tech issues, including mouse lag. Fortunately, fixing this lag is something most gamers will be able to accomplish themselves.

Instructions

    • 1

From the game's opening menu, go to the "Controls" section and then select the "Reduce Mouse Lag" option. This option is automatically enabled in many shooter games to allow for more precise movements in the game.

    • 2

Check for updates. The "Alien vs. Predator" game has been patched several times since its release to fix bugs, including mouse lag issues. If you used a game download platform such as Steam or Amazon.com to download your game, make sure you are connected to the Internet, and then the game will automatically check for and download your updates. If a restart is necessary, a notification window will pop up.

    • 3

Exit your game and close all running programs, including anti-virus software and Internet browsers. "Alien vs. Predator" requires quite a bit of virtual memory to run, and these programs can drain your memory and cause your mouse to run slowly.

Manually enhance your mouse settings. By default, Windows creates some mouse lag. However, if you go into the "Mouse" application in the "Control Panel" you can select the "Pointer Options" tab and then select the "Enhance Pointer Precision" checkbox.
