How to Rename the Container Command in Oblivion

"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" is a customizable role-playing game released by Bethesda Softworks for the computer in 2006 and 2007. Like with the majority of Bethesda games, you can use the featured developer's console in your efforts to customize the game to your liking. This includes little things like being able to change the name of a container, such as a chest, in the game. Using a console command, you can change the container name to anything you want.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "tilde" and "grave" key (~/`) on your keyboard while in "Oblivion." Click the container you want to rename.

    • 2

Type "SetFullActorName X" without the quotes. Replace "X" with the name you want for the container. If you want the name to be two or more words, you must set those within quotes as follows: SetFullActorName "Multiple Words".

    • 3

Press "Enter." Hover the cursor over the container. In the lower right-hand corner, you will see the new name displayed.
