How to Import Flight Plans in Flight Simulator X

"Flight Simulator X" is a simulator that lets you get behind a cockpit and fly everything from a small twin-engine plane to a large Boeing 747 aircraft. Those who have purchased the ASA's "Microsoft Flight Simulator as a Training Aid" add-on can further their experience by adding a variety of realistic options to their game, including weather and flight plans. To follow the directional coordinates of a predetermined flight plan, you will need to import them before you take off.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the pre-flight briefing menu. This menu is available directly before you load your flight level after you have chosen an area and a plane to fly.

    • 2

Click the "Briefing" menu from the top toolbar. A list of options will expand.

    • 3

Mouse over the "Change Flight Plan" option and click "Import." A standard Windows explorer window will appear. All of your available flight plans will be automatically shown.

    • 4

Click on the desired flight plan and click "Import" at the bottom-right of the window. The plan will be loaded during the level loading process.
