How to Restart GMod

If you experience issues while playing GMod, or Garry's Mod, you may have to quit the game and restart it. GMod is a standalone mod for games using the Source engine from Valve Corporation. It allows you to import materials, textures, props and maps from a variety of Source games such as, for example, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2 or Left 4 Dead and use them to create scenes which you can then record by using the game's built-in camera tool. You can restart GMod by quitting the game and using Steam, the gaming platform from Valve, to launch it again.

     Press the "Esc" key while in GMod. This will open the game's main menu. Then select "Exit game" to quit the game.

     Open your Steam library by right-clicking on the Steam icon in the tray notification area of your Windows taskbar and selecting "Library."

     Double-click on "Garry's Mod" in the left-hand pane, which contains all the games that you have downloaded or purchased through Steam. Steam will now launch GMod again.
