How to Unlock FPS in WoW

"Frames per second" in "World of Warcraft" refers to how many frames appear per second on your monitor. The higher FPS you have, the less stuttering and lag you will experience from the game. 60 FPS is ideal and you won't be able to see a drastic difference for anything over 60, but anything lower than 40 results in noticeably choppy game play. To view your current FPS in "WoW," turn on the indicator by pressing two buttons on your keyboard.

Instructions

    • 1

Select your "WoW" character and begin the game.

    • 2

Press and hold one of the "Ctrl" buttons on your keyboard; either one will work.

    • 3

Press "R" on your keyboard, while holding "Ctrl." The FPS counter will appear by default in the lower portion of your screen. If you have a custom UI, you may need to adjust it so you can see the counter. The counter will stay on your screen until you press "Ctrl" and "R" again or logout.
