How to Get a Steam Account

Steam is an online video game distributor. Its website contains more than 1,000 titles for digital download straight to your computer, including titles from major developers such as Bethesda and Valve. You must have a Steam account to buy and download games. Setting up an account takes only a few minutes.

  Go to the official Steam website, http://store.steampowered.com/.

  Click "login" at the upper right corner of the screen. This opens a login/account creation page.

  Click the "Join Steam" button under the "Create" tab on the right.

  Enter the required information, including a unique username, a password, a valid email address, and a security question.

  Read the License Agreement and check the box underneath to verify that you have read it. Enter the captcha words.

  Click "Create My Account." This will send a confirmation email to you.

  Login to the email account you used for signing up and click the confirmation link to register yourself as a member.
