How to Change Your Voice in the Team Fortress 2 Game

"Team Fortress 2" is a first-person shooter for the PC and Xbox 360 that often requires teamwork and communication. Relaying information about enemy positions and forming strategies is one of the many reasons players are encouraged to use microphones to communicate to their teammates. If you own the PC version of the game and feel uncomfortable sharing your real voice with everyone online, you can use a voice disguise program that auto-tunes your voice to a completely different one.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the voice disguise program of your choice by double-clicking its desktop icon or opening it from the start menu.

    • 2

Activate the voice changer aspect of the program. Each program has a specified way of performing this, outlined in the documentation that comes with the software. Typically, you will have to choose the sound effect you want and the microphone that is currently connected to your computer.

    • 3

Minimize the voice changing software window but do not quit out of it. Closing it will cause the program to not disguise your voice.

    • 4

Start "Team Fortress 2" and join any multi-player match. When you communicate via a headset, the voice disguise program will automatically transfer all sounds from your microphone to the designated auto-tuned sound effect.
