Place the Clifford Thinking Adventures CD into the CD ROM drive. After the installation screen appears, click "Install" and follow the instructions. Once installed, click "Play" to begin the program. Enter the child's name to start a new game. Select the level of difficulty: easy, medium or hard. Help Emily Elizabeth select four jewels for her birthday present for Clifford. Use the map of Birdwell Island to navigate the game. Located at the bottom of the screen is a task bar showing pictures of things Emily Elizabeth needs to complete before the party.
Help Clifford dig up items buried in Emily Elizabeth's backyard. Click on a pile and find the corresponding item. For example, if socks are dug up, find the matching tennis shoes. Next, explore the park to find one of Clifford's missing gems. Help Elroy Kibble get down from the hot air balloon stuck in the tree with the rope ladder. Locate the rope ladder at either the beach or the firehouse. Get the grooming kit from Elroy for helping him get down.
Travel to the Bleakman's backyard and locate another one of Clifford's missing gems. Offer the Bleakmans some ice cream in exchange for use of their pool to give Clifford a bath. Sandy sells ice cream near the market. Give Clifford different hairstyles by cutting, brushing, and coloring Clifford's fur. Ramona Diamond's package may be located by the pool.
Use the map to navigate to the market. Click on the food scattered on the street to help Mr. Hamburger clean up his mess. Sort the groceries by placing them on the correct shelf. Finish a jigsaw puzzle by dragging the piece into their correct position. Decorate Clifford's birthday cake. Visit Sandy at the ice cream stand to get the Bleakman's ice cream.
At the town square, locate a missing jewel in one of the trees. Clear the traffic jam by picking up one car at a time and moving it to the correct destination. Gophers sometimes show up in town square. Click on the correct gopher to receive a missing jewel.
Move to the firehouse and beach to locate several missing items. Find a rope ladder, a missing jewel, and Ramona Diamond's package for the post office at the firehouse or beach location. Help Pete the Fire Chief put out a fire. Save Rocky by swimming through the water avoiding seaweed and waves.
Return to Emily Elizabeth's house to have Clifford's party. Click on Emily Elizabeth to hear her sing a birthday song for Clifford. Other guest offer birthday greetings as well. Click on Clifford's birthday present to play a game of doggy soccer. Select four players. Move Clifford to catch the ball and stop a goal. Click the left mouse button to kick the ball.
