Unlimited Money
Open the root directory where you installed "Thief" and open the file dark.cfg in a text editor. Go to the bottom of the text and add the phrase "Cash_Bonus 3000" without the quotation marks. Every time you load up the game, an extra 3000 gold will be added to your inventory.
Level Select
You usually start the game at Level One, in Lord Baford's Mansion, but you can use a cheat to start from any level. Open the dark.cfg file in a text editor and add the line "starting_mission x" without quotation marks and input the number of the level you want to start on in the place of "x." To start on Level 5, for example, input "starting_mission 5" at the end of the file.
Skip a Level
If you're stuck on a certain level in the game or just bored of it, you can skip it by pressing CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-END. This will jump you to the start of the next level.
Basketball Court
You can find a hidden basketball court level when doing the training level in Expert mode. After the first human sword fighting drill, run over to the table at the side of the room and drink the potion and eat the apple there. Take the key from the table, open the door and go through. Turn around and you'll see a guard walking down the hall. Follow the guard, and you'll get to another door. Use the key from the table to unlock it. Inside is a basketball court, complete with hoops and ball.
