The trade chat channel in "World of Warcraft" is one of the main methods of communication in the game. Chat sent to the trade channel is displayed to any player who is in a major friendly city and has the trade channel chat turned on. All players are given the ability to link spells in the chat window for other players to see. If a player chooses to click the link, the game will display a pop-up box with a description of the spell.

Press "P" on the keyboard to open your characters spell book.

Press "Enter" to open a chat line, then type "/2" to set your chat to the trade channel.

Hold down the "Shift" button, then click the spell you want to link. This will cause the link to appear in the open chat line.

Press "Enter" to send the linked spell to the trade channel.
